Meet Frequently Asked Questions
Just a reminder: while it is a holiday weekend, Friday isn’t a holiday. Rush hour traffic can be challenging, particularly because the meet will take place during the Presidential Inauguration Weekend. Please plan extra time to arrive and park for the meet!
Where is the meet being held?
The Hill’s Maryland Classic is not held at Hill’s Gym. It is held at the University of Maryland School of Public Health building, 4200 Valley Drive, College Park, MD. Every year we have several people go to the Hill’s Club (about 60 minutes away). Please remind your families of the location of the meet.
What is your COVID-19 Policy?
- Individuals should not enter the venue if they: (i) have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and remain infectious according to CDC guidance; (ii) have symptoms of COVID-19; (iii) have otherwise been sick; or (iv) have been in close contact with an individual diagnosed with COVID-19, or have symptoms of COVID-19.
Where do we park?
Free parking is available Friday, Saturday, and Monday at the Terrapin Trail Garage, as well as Sunday after 1pm. The Terrapin Trail Garage is not available to Maryland Classic attendees Sunday before 1:30pm due to a college basketball game that begins at 12pm. For parking options on Sunday before 1:30pm, the following options are available on UMD’s campus: Lots 1,2,3, Union Lane Garage, Stadium Drive Garage, as well as any metered spots aside from the metered spots in Lots 6, UU, and the Xfinity Visitor Parking Lot. These options can be found on the Campus Parking Map, which can also be accessed via the UMD Campus Parking Website: https://transportation.umd.edu/parking/maps/umd-campus-parking-map.
How do we attend the college meet?
The UMD-UCLA Big10 meet will take place at 7:30pm on Saturday, January 18, at the University of Maryland’s XFINITY Center. The meet that weekend will be free, and no tickets will be necessary to attend. We have scheduled our meet sessions for the weekend so that they do not overlap with the college meet, encourage all participating athletes to bring friends and family members to cheer on the college gymnasts. Help us help UMD break its attendance record!!!
Please let us know if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you January 17 through 20, 2025 for the 39th Annual Hill’s Maryland Classic!
